I’ll never forget that moment in the rain,

When grass spring from the cracks between the bricks,

Roof draws the edge of wet and dry, it becomes the line

Where nature gently meets the world we build.

Brief

Rain or snow has the power to awaken many of our

senses. They are a primary expression of the complex

nature around us, yet our fully enclosed homes often

isolate us from these natural phenomena. The roof,

as the main feature of a building, can shelter or guide

the water.

How can we invite the "water of nature" into

buildings? How can we choreograph a dance between

water and the roof in a way that resonates with the

essence of nature?

Proposal

Learning from Orography and Eastern Naturalism,

this design seeks to redefine the boundary between

human society and nature in the context of modern

construction. The proposal aims to foster a dialogue

and interaction between humans, nature, and

architecture by integrating natural phenomena, while

also responding to invisible environmental energies

and the passage of time.

It strives to reveal a particular understanding of nature

by using mountains and water as models, making the

natural system an integral part of our daily lives.
